Weekly Update, May 15th

We had a lot of PRs this week.  Greg jumped so high he could actually jump on his wife’s shoulder if he wanted. Speaking of Greg’s wife, Amy got her first kipping pull-up.  Not to mention all the deadlift PRs and Amber’s first wall-less handstand.

Erin completed the Dirty Girl Mud Run in Virginia Beach this weekend.  Proving once again how badass she is.  And she did it in a tutu.  We are very proud of you Erin!

Next Monday classes will be at 9 and 10 am only.  We will be doing Murph.  Murph is a workout in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

It is for time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

Feel free to bring a friend on Monday and to do Murph as an individual or a team!
