This week we added the Grappling and Self-Defense classes on Sunday with Logan Perkins. Logan has been doing self-defense training for 4 years with a specialty in Sexual Assault prevention. He has been grappling for 3 years and has won multiple events. His specialty is training individuals on how to stop a larger opponent and keep one’s self safe. He has been an active member of the SARC (Sexual Assault Response Coordination) team for the last 2 years, counseling military members and giving seminars on how to avoid becoming a target and how to disengage from hostile confrontations. Several people have asked if we would move these classes to later in the day so once we get a consensus on time we will do just that.
We had several people reach a new one rep max on their back squats this week. Congratulations to everyone! Next week we will be testing the press. Remember that this is a much smaller muscle group and the jumps will be a lot smaller.
